VMI invests in JVC DLA-HD2K for new HD Cinema viewing facility

JVC has announced the sale of its first DLA-HD2K high definition D-ILA projector to post-house VMI High Definition and Broadcast Facilities.
“Over the past few months, VMI have been expanding their operation. The new facility located in the heart of Soho, London will have a state-of-the-art HD Cinema where clients can view rushes and final edits of footage shot in HD. Film distributors and sales agents will also use it for private screenings,” said Barry Bassett, Managing Director at VMI.
To complement this cutting edge facility, the HD-2K projector from JVC has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 with a total of 6.3 million pixels. The contrast ratio is over 2000:1 generating clearly defined images. The optical engine contains three 0.8-inch (D-ILA) imaging devices.
“We needed to be able to provide cinematic quality HD images. The HD2K projector was the perfect solution for our requirements,” added Basset. “JVC and VMI are leading the way in HD!”
Ian Scott, Director, Pro Video Operation UK is delighted that the HD2K projector has been selected. “Since its launch, we have been promoting the HD2K as the ideal projector for colour grading and post production applications. This VMI initiative provides a superb opportunity for film makers to view its true HD 16:9 display capabilities,” he said.
The HD Cinema facility will be completed in late October 2004.
