SDI Media Group Selects Signiant As An Integral Part Of Its Digital Media Distribution Strategy

Signiant, a leading developer of digital media distribution management solutions for the telco, media and entertainment industries, has announced that SDI Media Group, one of the largest subtitling and language dubbing companies for the entertainment industry, has implemented Signiant's Digital Media Distribution Management Suite (DMDMS) to manage and control its internal and external digital media distribution.
SDI Media provides subtitling and language dubbing for the world's leading media and entertainment groups across all distribution channels and formats including DVD, broadcast, VOD, theatrical, interactive games and the internet.
By implementing a cutting-edge digital file-based traffic management transfer system, SDI Media can offer a superior service to its clients at lower costs. For example, SDI Media can offer a superior service to its clients at lower costs. For example, eliminating the physical movement of tapes and other assets around the world saves significant time and money. Signiant enables SDI Media to service its tape-based clients faster by receiving tape assets at the nearest SDI office, converting the tapes to digital files and digitally delivering those files of localisation.
Signiant also enables SDI to use the internet to quickly and securely move media between companies, which eliminates the need for a costly private network and also allows SDI to reach clients anywhere in the world that have an internet connection.
Pinda Bansal, Director of IT - Europe, SDI Media Group, said: Signiant has the cutting-edge technology and functionality we need to run our global business. Other systems we looked at fell short. SDI also wanted a platform that was accepted by the industry and many broadcasters and studios are already using Signiant. We carried out a full evaluation and decided to make the investment to implement Signiant as our digital file distribution platform."
Roy Dvorkin, Senior Vice President, International Sales, SDI Media Group, added: "Partnering with Signiant has given us a competitive advantage. We feel that moving into the next generation of digital delivery really shows our clients that we are willing to invest in technology and in the future."
David Nortier, Managing Director, Signiant Europe, said: "SDI Media is a dynamic company that has grasped an opportunity to raise itself above the competition and we are delighted that Signiant has been chosen to help them accomplish that. SDI joins a growing community of media organisations, including the BBC, Siemens, NBC Universal, Mediaset and many others, that can centrally manage the transfer of media easily and cost-effectively via Signiant, allowing them to improve their external workflows in addition to their internal infrastructure."
