Mercury Announces Mipcom Line Up

MercuryMedia has announced its slate of acclaimed new films for launch at Mipcom 2008.
The 13 new titles include bio-pics, 'Dominck Dunne: After The Party', the Sheffield, Melbourne and Hamptons from Australian husband and wife couple Tim Jolley and Kirsty De Garis, Sundance-selected 'In Prison My Whole Life', the chronicle of death row prisoner Mumia Abu-Jamal, from Marc Ward and Livia and Colin Firth, 'This Is Not A Robbery', the story of Red Rowntree who at 89 was the oldest bank-robber in history; and 'God Made Them Blind', the story of John Fawcett who restored sight to 25,000 blind people.
Mercury also offers a line up of new controversial docs including: 'Welcome To Hebron' - the 7 festival selected hit, exposing life in the occupied Palestinian city; 'Steal This Film 2' outlining how internet piracy is revolutionising the film industry; 'Soviet Story' exposing the brutality of the former regime; 'The Pig Business', made for the UK's Channel 4, which reveals the dangers of industrial pork farming and IOUSA (specific territories only) the IDFA, Sheffield and Sundance selected 'horror' film from Patrick Creadon predicting financial Armageddon for the US and western captialism.
On a lighter note, Mercury is also proud to present: 'Sea-Point Days' - the Cape Town resort revealed, selected for Toronto Film Festival from Emmy-award winner Francois Verster; 'Motherland' - six recently bereaved women from the US visit South Africa and find solace through community from film-maker Jennifer Steinman and 'Runners High', the story of 80 disadvantaged youths who train for the LA marathon.
