Guinness World Records TV Takes New Shows To MIPCOM

Guinness World Records TV, the ultimate record-keeping authority in the world, will be bringing two brand new shows to MIPCOM 2008 at Stand R31.34 at Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France between October 13-17.
Scheduled to air on Sky1 in December 2008 and produced by Outline Productions, 'Guinness World Records Smashed' is the ultimate show for the YouTube generation.
Hosted by UK television and radio favourites Ben Shephard and Fearne Cotton, it features a mix of user-generated content, record-breaking challenges and death-defying stunts in a one-hour studio-based show recorded before a live audience.
'Guinness World Records Live: The Top 100!' is the definitive countdown of the very best Guinness World Records of all time in a two-hour spectacular.
Hosted by Fearne Cotton and produced by Endemol subsidiary, True Entertainment, 'Guinness World Records Live: The Top 100!' was filmed live at Universal Studios in Los Angeles. The show's NBC premiere easily won its timeslot overall, as well as in the key to 16-25 and 26-49 demographics.
Guinness World Records TV is celebrating one of its most successful years in television. The UK and US commissions add to other 2008 successes in Italy (Canale 5), Germany (RTL) and China (CCTV). They complement the ever growing number of territories acquiring Guinness World Records' catalogue of over 600 hours of programming.
Rob Molloy, Guinness World Records' Director of Television, said: "Guinness World Records is an easy fit for TV. By their very nature, record attempts can be thrilling, funny, bizarre and terrifying. But they're always accessible and highly visual, transcending languages and cultures to make for a truly universal product. Most importantly, our key audience is the prime sector of the consumer market. We're always looking to work with the most dynamic and creative broadcasters and production companies all over the world to bring the magic of record breaking to the screen."
