Vizrt to showcase Viz|Trio real-time 3D graphics CG at Broadcast Production Show

Vizrt, the world’s leading producer of real-time 2D and true 3D graphics systems for television, will display its latest Viz|Trio CG version for real-time 3D broadcast graphics, which now includes new design tools for operators, at the Broadcast Production Show this year.
Also at the show, Vizrt will be showing many enhancements to its broad product range. A new range of shaders have been created for Viz|Artist for added realism and the latest version of Viz|Artist, 3.0 has now been officially released. This has a completely new user interface, with the capability of adding interactivity within an animation. This means presenters can control and operate Viz animations using a touch screen.
Vizrt is also in the process of buying Curious World Maps, which is good news for the users of both software packages. Integration is already underway to bring Curious’ wide range of maps into Vizrt applications, enabling 3D flyovers and animations of geographically accurate terrain models to run in real-time.
Viz|Weather is now widely used throughout the world and is an expansion module that can be added to any Viz installation to provide accurate and attractive animated weather forecasts for any region of the world, without the need for trained meteorologists.
Vizrt has entered the world of postproduction with two new plug-ins. The first can be used to render an animation as a QuickTime movie which now includes both key and fill, for graphical overlays within edits. The other is a dedicated NLE plug-in which runs within the user interface of the NLE application itself. The editor can select a graphics template, populate it and have it render directly to the timeline on the NLE workstation. This has been done for Avid, Pinnacle Liquid Edition and is planned to apply to all popular NLE systems.
Viz|Content Pilot, the company’s renowned template graphics system for newsrooms has also undergone a version upgrade, with an improved user interface, the addition of scene-to-scene transitions selectable at playout and the ability to edit and playout Viz|Trio templates.
Vizrt’s award-winning Virtual Studio system has benefited from the new range of NVIDIA graphics cards, providing much higher performance to generate more complex sets and foreground animations, as used by ITV News during the general election.
All Vizrt systems run in both HD and SD on a non-proprietary windows PC platform, with the ability to add extra plug-ins and expansion modules as the need for real-time 3D graphics applications grows.
