Lyon Video Chooses QuStream Integrity For HD Mobile Production Units

QuStream Corporation, a global provider of integrated solutions to the creators and distributors of professional video content, has received a major order from Lyon Video embracing Integrity-series signal processing equipment for two of the facility's HD mobile production units.
These will be the second and third trucks that Lyon Video has chosen to equip with QuStream technology.
Founded in 1987 and based in Columbus, Ohio, Lyon Video provides full-service video and film production, post-production and DVD authoring in addition to mobile television production.
Lyon Video's President Bob Lyon said: "The new QuStream signal processors will be housed in our HD upgrade to the MU5 expando and in our new MU9 dedicated HD truck.
The processors will provide both vehicles with facilities for bidirectional signal conversion between HD and SD as well as interfacing between digital and analog signal domains.
"QuStream was the logical choice both for the very large number of features they manage to pack into very compact dimensions and for their excellent post sales support.
Karlton Burn, QuStream's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing, said: "New customers are always a vote of confidence in a manufacturers products and technical service.
"Returning customers doubly so. Our range of HD and multi-format routers, interfaces and signal processors continues to be in strong demand both for mobile and studio applications."
The order of QuStream's Integrity-series products includes the innovative QuStream FRM-603 SmartFrame. Providing 20 card slots in only 3 RU, the FRM 603 can include optional features such as redundant controllers, redundant power and even redundant sync reference. The frame also allows signal sharing between various cards, offering unprecedented flexibility in system design.
Lyon Video's system consists of 82 DDA617 down-converting distribution amplifiers (HD to SDI/analog); 12 DVA617 1 x 7 digital video DAs (270 Mbit/s to 3 Gbit/s); six DVA626 dual 1 x 3 digital video DAs (270 Mbit/s to 3 Gbit/s); 24 UDC-550 up/down/cross converters with internal Perfect Paletteā„¢ video legalizer and HD-SDI, SD-SDI and NTSC/PAL outputs; 32 UDC-550-CC up/down/cross convertors including full RGB color correction and 32 FS-511 video synchronizer cards. All cards are controlled by four of the popular RCP-503 Remote Control Panels.
