QuStream To Display Latest Additions At HD World And WABE

QuStream Corporation will display the latest additions to its family of HD and HD/SD routers and signal processors at two major exhibitions next month: HD World in New York and WABE in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Integrity 600 range of broadcast-quality signal processing, conversion and distribution modules plus the Cheetah V5 DVI-I transmission link will be introduced to the US East Coast and Mid-West Canadian markets.
"We debuted the Integrity 600 HD/SD modular signal processor at the NAB SpringConvention in Las Vegas earlier this year," said Karlton Burn, QuStream's Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing.
"The new Cheetah V5 DVI-I transmission link followed at IBC2007 in Amsterdam early September. HD World and WABE will give broadcasters, programme producers and post-production specialists in their respective regions the opportunity to see both of these new product ranges on their home territory."
QuStream's Integrity 600 comprises a range of HD and SD modules centred on a compact high-speed chassis. Features include dual independent power supplies and optional redundant control plus a reference board for two power busses, two Ethernet busses and two reference signals to every card in the system. The system also incorporates two sets of fans with individual tachometers for early warning of potential fan failure.
Modules already available for the Integrity 600 series include the DDA-617, DDA617AA and DDA617DA series of down-converting video/digital-audio DAs with 270 Mbit/s to 3 Gbit/s 1080p inputs.
Outputs comprise three reclocked HD, one menu-selectable HD/SD and three composite/SDI feeds with one of the three selectable as an AES audio pair. Also available are 16 digital video distribution models in the DVA-600 series. These include the DVA617 (1x7), DVA6115 (1x15), DVA623 (dual 1x3) and DVA6214 (dual 1x7). All video DAs are designed for 270 Mbit/s to 3 Gbit/s 1080p inputs.
AES and analogue audio processing, conversion and distribution modules are also available. All DA modules are designed as analogue and AES interfaces through the midplane to adjacent video conversion, synchronisation and processing boards as well as processing and distributing analogue or AES audio. The AES688 is the top AES module with 16 AES (32 channels) of bidirectional input/output. The ADA688 has eight analogue inputs and output channels with A to D conversion for AES outputs to and from adjacent boards and the Star slots. The UDC650, UDC651 and UDC652 up/down/cross-conversion module will be introduced this winter.
Other modules such as HD synchronisers, legalisers and colour correctors will be introduced in the near future.
QuStream's Cheetah V5 DVI-I transmission link enables long-distance delivery of DVI-I video or VGA component video and stereo audio via a single optical fibre or coaxial cable. It also allows DVI video to be routed via conventional routing switcher technology over a secure optical fibre signal path. Versions of the Cheetah V5-DVI are available as stand-alone modules or in a convenient 1 RU rack-mount kit. The optical fibre model has a range of up to 6 miles (10 km) in single mode. The fibre modules also provide inbuilt support for multimode and single mode cable up to 1200 ft (400 m). A looping output is provided on the transmission feed for DVI or VGA local monitoring.
The tuned data rate is 1.485 Gbit/s which allows signals to pass through HD-SDI routers without additional processing.
