Broadcast Technology announces DTCA 3000-16 ultra-compact descrambler

Broadcast Technology has announced the launch of a new 16-channel conditional-access descrambler.
Based on the established DTCA 3000, the DTCA 3000-16 is a highly compact unit designed for multiple service descrambling, with a wide range of applications in digital television monitoring and forwarding systems. Typical applications are service acquisition for pay TV networks and cable head ends, off air decryption for satellite and cable-fed analogue cable TV networks, digital turn-around and multichannel monitoring. Fourteen hot-swappable modules can be accommodated in the 3000 series rack unit, enabling up to 224 CA channels to be descrambled and forwarded in just 3U of rack space.
A single DTCA 3000-16 can decrypt up to 16 services from a transport stream of up to 50 megabit/s. DVB Common Interface Conditional Access Modules (CI-CAM) are fully supported. Dual ASI inputs are provided, feeding three identical ASI outputs to allow redundancy support and monitoring. Features include front-panel status display, active system alarms and event log, and full redundant-architecture compatibility. The DTCA 3016 can be configured over RS-232 using a front panel connector or remotely via RS-232 or Ethernet using the Broadcast Technology control system.
