Zeal Deal On UGC

Format and events programming distributor Zeal Entertainment - part of the Digital Rights Group (DRG) - has signed a programme representation deal with the UK's leading video sharing community, Sumo.TV.
It was announced by Andrea Jackson, Managing Director that the agreement will see Zeal Entertainment distributing a range of innovative programming from Sumo.TV, showcasing the best in User Generated Content (UGC).
Shows included are My Sumo, Sumo.TV's flagship UGC clips show; Video Zoo, featuring six hosts presenting some of the best internet clips around; Shockorama, an hour of the most shocking clips on TV; Retroland, showcasing vintage TV adverts, public service information films and bizarre retro toys; and Animental, a half hour animation show broadcasting the internet's most entertaining, ridiculous and innovative cartoon shorts.
Other titles include Dexy's Dollhouse, The Weird Sex Show, The Viral Chart Show, Aaargh Top 10!, In Bed With Sim-Wise, Blog Off, Brainjar and Sumo Selection.
A subsidiary of the global interactive digital broadcaster Cellcast plc, Sumo.TV integrates UGC into television programming, internet and mobile services, via a dedicated UK television channel (Sky), website and mobile TV platform.
The shows broadcast via these platforms will now be available to international broadcasters through Zeal Entertainment, introducing viewers to a range of content never before seen.
The deal was brokered between Andrea Jackson on behalf of Zeal Entertainment and Steve Lazarus, Commercial Director of Sumo.TV.
Andrea Jackson commented: "Sumo.TV is a unique multi-platform concept recognising the huge popularity of user generated content.
"It has built a substantial international online community of users, submitting fresh and innovative content that offers broad appeal worldwide.
"We are confident that the wide range of shows available, designed to suit all tastes, will prove hugely popular with international broadcasters and audiences."
