Axis Add Stereoscopic 3D Software To Quantel Pablo iQ System

Axis Post has become the first European post facility to add Stereoscopic 3D software to its Quantel Pablo iQ system.
The 3D Pablo will be installed at Concrete Post Production in Dean Street, Soho, London, UK.
This new alliance will create a number of benefits for clients of the two companies. The 3D Pablo will be supported at Concrete with their existing facilities including visual effects, graphic design, editing and surround audio design. Axis will continue to provide high-end post solutions at Shepperton Studios, meaning that clients will enjoy seamless shooting and post support from studio shoot to west end post production. The alliance between the camera hire division of Axis films and Concrete is designed to provide mutual clients with the best workflows for 2D and 3D digital film making at any resolution up to 4K.
"Stereoscopic 3D has come of age, and right now there is an incredible opportunity for everyone to expand their business by harnessing this powerful and exciting digital medium," said Paul Carter, Managing Director of Axis Post. "Quantel post-production technology is making it all possible - it has dramatically cut time in post and has simplified the whole process of making and delivering great 3D. We decided the best way to show this was to take the technology to our market - the company has been involved with 3D demonstrations in Soho and Shepperton."
Managing Director, David Cox at Concrete added: "We've been looking at a close alliance with a camera facility for some time to enhance the services that we offer. Axis Films seemed to be the perfect match with their interest in post production coming from many years of camera rental experience in both film and HD. We believe the synergy between the two companies will offer a truly unique service to our clients. We are very excited to offer 3D film making facilities to our clients, who I think will seize this opportunity to stand out from their competition."
Axis Post opened in November 2006 as a Pablo iQ-based facility designed from scratch to offer power and versatility. Together with Axis Hire and Axis Data, the facility forms a complete 'scene to screen' solution for top-end TV, commercial, corporate and film producers.
The addition of Quantel's Stereoscopic 3D software enhances the company's ability to achieve production values previously only available to the full-budget features
market.
