VGI Entertainment Appointed Exclusive Worldwide Television Distributors Of 'Orsum Island'

VGI Entertainment have been appointed exclusive international television distributors for Adventures on Orsum Island, a 26 x 30’ motion capture action adventure series.
VGI will be launching the series at MIPCOM Junior 2007. The visually ground-breaking series is produced by Pineapple Squared and aimed at children aged 7-12.
Orsum Island is made using state of the art motion capture technology, which has never before been used for a television production and usually associated with high-budget blockbuster films. Motion capture entails performers wearing markers near each joint which identify motions by the positions between the markers and software records angles, velocities, accelerations and impulses to provide an accurate digital representation of motion.
With advanced CGI techniques and real-life backgrounds the levels of tactility and warmth equal those currently only delivered in the cinema. Orsum Island is entirely HD and all film and sound assets are designed to be used on emerging digital platforms.

The series features an extensive and diverse line up of characters and the storyline revolves around control of Orsum Island, battled between Ming, the wise master, and Zarkan, an evil mutation.
Protagonist Kodi arrives with a special power that will allow either Ming or Zarkan to take control of the island once and for all. Kodi is not only entangled in their battle, but fighting his own to get off the Island. With new friends Divine Flower, Ming’s daughter, and comedy duo Monty and Fidget, Kodi embarks on adventures that will keep kids endlessly entertained. The first episode is due for delivery in October 2007.
VGI Entertainment will be at MIPCOM, stand R28.13 from 8-12 October.
