Virgin Island Recommissioned For A Second Series

News Image
Channel 4's youth streaming hit, Virgin Island, has been recommissioned for a second series as it continues to smash streaming records amongst 16–34-year-olds.

Having become one of the most talked-about shows of the year, the series has shot to the top of the list of Channel 4's new unscripted series launches for share of 16-34s since modern records began, overtaking recent hits such as The Jury: Murder Trial and Late Night Lycett, as well as classic titles such as Supernanny and the original series of Married at First Sight.

In its first 28 days, episode 1 has become Channel 4's most watched show for 16-34s in 2025 so far, sitting ahead of established formats such as Taskmaster, Married at First Sight Australia and Gogglebox. And with a series average of 1.4 million viewers per episode, Virgin Island is Channel 4’s biggest streaming hit of the year, across both scripted and unscripted programming.

For volume of 16–34-year-old viewing this year, Virgin Island outperforms titles such as Race Across the World, Dr Who and Gladiators.

The full series has, so far, accumulated almost nine million views on streaming – with final figures for later episodes still to be consolidated.

The groundbreaking and heartwarming series follows 12 adult virgins, as they travel to a luxury Mediterranean retreat to embark on a unique course in intimacy, to see if it can help them overcome the fears that are holding them back. This warm, authentic and thought-provoking series explores these issues as some of the world's leading sexologists take the twelve courageous virgins on a unique, hands-on programme, to help them take their first steps towards sex and intimacy.
