Four Corners To Launch Film And Photography Centre

On 5 July Four Corners will celebrate the launch of it's new, purpose-designed film and photography centre.
Award winning British filmmaker Bille Eltringham will be speaking at the event. Her new film, the comedy drama 'Mrs Ratcliffe's Revolution' is due for release in August.
Four Corners has been nurturing filmmaking talent for over 30 years. Growing out of the 1970’s explicitly political and avant-garde workshop era it set about creating room to experiment in filmmaking and work in a collective and non-hierarchical way. It now has a brand new centre for still and moving image work, covering every stage of creative production from inception to exhibition and continues to nurture and support filmmakers, photographers and artists, particularly those from traditionally under-represented communities.
With London’s creative industries providing 1 in 5 of all new jobs, Four Corners’ base in Tower Hamlets places it at the heart of an East London boom in media, visual arts and design. Its reputation for providing professional development and free industry-standard training in film, TV and photography is outstanding. They are on the front line when it comes to creating real, paid opportunities for under represented people in an industry that is still the preserve of an elite few. It’s this vision of a more diverse generation of filmmakers and photographers that fuels the people who make Four Corners such a vibrant and dynamic place to be. "Our new centre will enable us to build on our record of support for creative talent, promote new work and encourage diversity at all levels, engaging with people who have been traditionally completely excluded from the creative process,” said Carla Mitchell, Development Director.
