Leader To Demonstrate CINELITE At 'Hands On HD' In Hannover

Leader's recently-announced CINELITE will be demonstrated to programme producers and broadcasters at 'Hands on HD' in Hanover, July 30 through August 5.
A powerful and highly innovative option for the LV5700A, LV5750 and LV5800 digital test instruments, CINELITE enables television content producers to determine optimal camera exposure settings much more precisely than is possible with a traditional luminance meter. By detecting the actual signal levels captured during pre-shoot line-up rather merely displaying local light intensity, CINELITE allows a camera's full dynamic range to be used. When a camera is connected via SDI cable or digitising interface to the Leader test instrument, the actual picture can be displayed on a 1024 x 768 pixel TFT LCD screen.
Hairline cursors can then be used to select the brightest and darkest points in the scene. At the press of a button, CINELITE shows the optimal exposure setting either as an f-stop or, if preferred, as a percentage value. When incorporated into the recently-announced Leader LV5800, four different points of interest on a live feed can be monitored simultaneously.
"We have participated in 'Hands on HD' since 2005 and found it the ideal environment in which to demonstrate the practical benefits of modern broadcast production tools in operational roles," comments Paul Vos, Managing Director of elQuip BV, Broadcast Master Distributor for Leader Electronics Corporation in Europe. 'Hands on HD' achieves a perfect balance between workshops and developer/user networking. It is much more focused than traditional exhibitions and is now developing from a predominantly German and Scandinavian event into a truly multinational event. The timing is ideal as programme producers and broadcasters worldwide are getting to grips with the huge market
potential of HD video production."
'Hands on HD' began in 2000 as an expert forum on HD24p. It was initiated by Band Pro Munich GmbH CEO Gerhard Baier and sales engineer Hendrik Vogt. This year's event is organised by Hendrik Vogt in co-operation with Nordmedia. Proceedings will be held in English at the Peppermint Pavilion in Hannover. Internationally respected HD specialists will share their experience with delegates in equipment-specific hands-on groups. Highlights will include the detailed workings of an HD-OB van and demonstrations of airborne camera operation in a helicopter. A parallel programme for producers and directors on August 2 through 3 will focus on content management, distribution and archiving. In addition to Leader, major sponsors include Ambient, Avid, Canon, Chrosziel, Fujinon, JVC, MotionFX, Panasonic, P-S Technik, Sachtler, Sony, Thomson Grass Valley, TVN, Videocation, Videor Technical and Zeiss.
