BFI Southbank To Provide International Platform For British Films In 2007

The London UK Film Focus (LUFF) will return to the capital from June 25-28, 2007 at the new BFI Southbank, it has been announced.
Now in its fourth year, the three-day export event will again provide a platform to celebrate and promote British films and talent to the international market. 150 buyers from all world territories will be invited to see around 40 titles.
Two successful new strands at this year’s LUFF - Breakthrough, which exposes feature projects from emerging British film-makers looking for sales representation, and Footage Screenings, which give buyers a sneak preview of uncompleted forthcoming titles - are both set to return in 2007.
Major backers Film London, the UK Film Council, Film Export UK (FEUK), and the London Development Agency have all renewed their support for the event.
Adrian Wootton, CEO of Film London commented: “We are delighted to be staging LUFF once again. The event has gone from strength to strength and has become a fixture for the international industry, offering both a real opportunity to raise the global profile of the capital as a filming hub and promote established and emerging home-grown talent.”
John Woodward, CEO of the UK Film Council commented: “In only four years, LUFF has become an incredibly important event for promoting British films and talent to the international market. We are proud to support it.”
Amanda Nevill, BFI Director added: “We are very excited to be welcoming LUFF once again and in 2007 visitors will be able to enjoy this exceptional focus on London film in our wonderful new BFI Southbank venue. LUFF is a globally recognised event and the BFI is proud to be part of it.”
Film London also plans to host a Production Finance Market in 2007 to promote London-based producers and the production of new British films. Further details will be announced shortly.
