NTL SECURE £8 MILLION IN NEW CONTRACTS

NTL have announced new contracts in the UK worth £8 million with a number of television companies.
The contracts with QVC, Discovery and Universal include the integration of interactive services into new and existing businesses, which will see NTL positioning themselves as industry leaders in the burgeoning field of interactive TV.
As part of a new 10-year direct-to-home deal, NTL will deliver an additional QVC service which includes the integration of interactive capability on Astra 2B. Other new services to be uplinked to Astra 2B include Situp.com, a new auction style channel, and Asian channel Prime TV.
NTL are also introducing a fourth multiplex on the 28 degrees Astra digital slot to meet increasing demand for cost-effective direct-to-home carriage.
NTL’s Business Director for Media Solutions Steve Holebrook said: “It is a measure of NTL’s reputation that we are continuing to secure new contracts with key TV companies, while at the same time building on our existing successful relationships.”
