SHORT FILM BUREAU FACE COMPETITION
THE SHORT Film Bureau have launched a UK-wide competition inviting cinemagoers to choose their favourite short film.
From Saturday September 23, ten of the chosen shorts will be shown at 30 national Odeon cinemas before screenings of ‘Me Myself and Irene’ and ‘Hollow Man’.
The Filmgoers Award for Cinematic Excellence (FACE) will run until the end of November and participants can cast their vote online at www.MyMovies.net/FACE. The winners will be announced in February 2001.
The FACE launch took place at the Odeon Leicester Square on September 9 under the aegis of the Short Film Bureau’s Third Cinema Programme showcase to highlight new work. The ten selected films include, ‘Cloudbuster’, ‘Clueless’, ‘The Cookie Thief’, ‘Football’, ’Grandpa’, Green Monkey’, ‘Inside Out’, ‘Mothers Day’, ‘Somersault’ and ‘Sweet’.
A list of contributing cinemas can be obtained from local Odeon cinemas.
