PINNACLE GO DIGITAL WITH PCTV

PINNACLE Systems have announced PCTV Sat, the latest addition to their successful computer TV tuner range.
PCTV will provide digital TV and radio in CD quality on a PC or a TV, enabling users to have access to their favourite satellite channels.

PCTV Sat is the first of Pinnacle’s products to offer a DVB-S (satellite) receiver. Directly connected to a satellite dish, PCTV Sat allows the user to watch satellite channels on a PC, or on a TV set by using an existing TV output of the PC’s VGA board. This DVB-S PCI board acts as a satellite receiver for free digital Astra and Eutelsat channels, which currently amounts to more than 350 and include Bloomberg, Eurosport, and Sky News.
PCTV Sat will provide more than 200 satellite TV channels and 150 radio channels, users will be able to create a preview of 16 TV channels simultaneously with the use of a full featured remote control.
Users who want to record TV and music on the PC in original MPEG-2 format will be able to do this by capturing the digital program on the hard disk.
PCTV also allows delayed viewing of a TV programme, this ‘time-shifting’ element enables users to start watching a recorded show before it has finished recording, allowing individual slow and fast motion and the ability to jump to the next interesting scene or the end of a commercial.
PCTV is due to be shipped in October.
