Xstation provides turnkey solution for easy launch of DTV subchannels

Xstation, the channel-in-a-box solution now available from leading broadcast graphics software and hardware provider VertigoXmedia, contains all the resources needed to create, schedule, and broadcast complete DTV subchannels or info channels incorporating national, local, and hyperlocal content.
Xstation is a bundle including several applications from Vertigo's patented Xmedia Suite platform and the VertigoXG graphics engine. The unique system provides dynamic control over long-form clips, promos, commercial spots, data tickers and crawls, sponsor logos, local weather, and channel branding using a station's existing traffic system, or as a stand-alone solution.
"We've combined our best hardware and software solutions into a single plug-and-play system - Xstation - that makes launching new channels like
DTV subchannels a real snap," said VertigoXmedia's President of Broadcast Solutions Darin Crosby. "It's the perfect solution for launching new information-rich channels under tight budgets."
Xstation is based on the same template-driven functionality that has made Vertigo's Xmedia Suite a popular option for launching highly efficient, cost-effective broadcast operations. It contains built-in support for numerous data sources including AP, Bloomberg, STATS, Weather Central, Reuters, and Hyperfeed, as well as local and networked files, databases, and Web feeds.
Channel configurations built with Xstation are fully compatible with the Xmedia Suite, so local stations can create unique local infochannels yet still integrate centralised content and data shared across a distributed station group. The Xstation system can grow to service multiple channels with the addition of modular Xmedia Suite components as needs evolve. (CD)
