SKY NEWS FORM NEW INVESTIGATIVE UNIT

SKY NEWS have announced the set up a new investigative journalism unit.
The Special Reports Unit has been created to provide Sky News viewers with reports and in-depth reflective news analysis of topical news stories.
The unit, which will be headed up by Special Reports Editor, Michael Wilson, will include a crew of journalists including David Chater, Mark Saggers, Andrew Simmons and Greg Milam.
Head of Sky News, Nick Pollard, said: “Although modern technology has undoubtedly revolutionised news broadcasting, the need for first class journalism is stronger than ever before. The calibre and experience of this new investigative unit will provide viewers with in-depth analysis of current news and will also set the news agenda by breaking exclusive news stories.”
Chater has won numerous awards for his reporting of conflicts and news stories across the globe, while Saggers has for the last few years been Sky News’ Senior Sports Correspondent, and has built up a unrivalled reputation amongst his contemporaries.
During his 20 years in broadcasting, Simmons has won two RTS awards for his reporting of Iraq and Northern Ireland for ITN, before joining Sky News earlier this year. Milam is currently the BT News Broadcaster of the Year.
