Arqiva explores Discovery Real Time Extra
The latest direct-to-home (DTH) channel from Discovery Networks Europe, Discovery Real Time Extra, is being broadcast by Arqiva.
The channel launched in the UK on August 22 and Arqiva is responsible for carrying the channel’s signal by fibre to its Gerrards Cross transmission centre, and then uplink to the Eurobird 28.5E satellite.
“Arqiva’s fully redundant uplink facilities ensure outstanding reliability for Discovery Real Time Extra,” said Discovery Networks Europe's Vice-President of Network Operations, Paul Newman. “Crucially, it adds a new distribution route via the Gerrards Cross teleport to maximise Discovery's delivery options.”
Arqiva’s Head of Broadcast Sales, John Bozza, said: “Discovery Real Time Extra continues Discovery Networks Europe’s tradition of factual and lifestyle programming excellence.
“This deal is significant in helping the Discovery group to further expand its half-billion audience worldwide.”
