Off The Fence Singapore Wins First Commission From Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific

Off the Fence Productions has announced that, only months after opening, Off the Fence Asia is about to deliver its first in-house production for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.
'Changemakers: Asia' is a series that takes a humourous look at the various technological solutions developed in Asia to tackle global warming.
'Changemakers: Asia' features inspirational characters from across four Asian countries, showcasing their pioneering eco-friendly technologies which aim to help save the planet.
The series breaks the mould of traditional ecology programming, offering a large dose of humour as an antidote to the tone of much eco-programming and introduces audiences to the men and women who are solving the crisis - in some very unusual ways.
Each episode focuses on one of the major challenges of global warning that we face today: Power, Waste and Lifestyle. Solutions proposed in the series range from high-tech to the decidedly low-tech, to the frankly bizarre; examples include oil-producing green slime from Japan, a Paradise Island in Singapore created from waste, Taiwanese solar-powered street cars, and edible cutlery in Mumbai.
Off the Fence Singapore was formed in spring 2008 as part of the company's strategy to expand their production and co-production output and to tap into local expertise around the world. The launch of the Singapore production office followed the opening of offices in Cape Town and Bristol.
Tony Chow, Managing Director for Off the Fence Singapore, said: "OTF Singapore is committed to making more documentaries in Asia. We will be looking to work with producers and broadcasters in the region, to bring forth more Asian stories that are waiting to be told.
"There is a wealth of untapped stories in the region - be it wildlife, natural history, science or technology - and in combining these with our vast experience and expertise in documentary film making, we can secure commercial viability for the programmes we make."
'Changemakers: Asia' is an Off the Fence production for Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific to air on the Discovery Channel. The series is executive produced by Tony Chow for Off the Fence.
