Discovery Channel Launches On BA Flights

Discovery Enterprises International has announced a deal with British Airways to launch the Discovery Channel on the airline's in-flight entertainment system.
Discovery Channel video-on-demand has now gone live on all British Airways flights.
"The strategic partnership with British Airways is an important deal for Discovery as we continue to grow our global distribution footprint by making our award winning content available to viewers on the go," said Elliot Wagner, VP, Program Sales and Partnerships, Discovery Enterprises International, Discovery Networks International.
Richard D'Cruze, British Airways Inflight Entertainment & Technology Manager, added: "We are delighted to add to the wealth of programmes on board, with the addition of our latest partner. The Discovery Channel is well known for producing high quality, beautiful programming, that captures adventure at its best, and we are pleased to be able to share this content with our customers."
Discovery Private Networks is a brand extension of Discovery Enterprises International, which currently provides programming to more than 100 clients worldwide.
In addition to licensing individual programs from the Discovery networks family, Discovery Private Networks also offers various services and program packages to clients including branded blocks, short programming, and dual-language programming (available in more than 20 languages).
In the UK, the Discovery Channel has been awarded Factual Channel of the Year at the Broadcast Digital Awards for 2013, 2012 and 2010.
