Edifis introduce f/stop film grading system

Edifis, providers of system solutions to a wide variety of broadcasters, post production and film facilities based on proprietry hard disk technology has introduced the new f/stop system.
With more electronic acquisition, and the use of Digital Intermediate for film-acquired material, there is a growing need for colour correction of full-aperture 2K RGB footage. Bringing the real-time capabilities of the successful Finaliser video grading system to the world of 2K, f/stop meets the need without the compromises associated with existing solutions.
f/stop is a data-centric colour corrector and grading system. The systems accepts and delivers material as data files. All processing is done in real-time. Rendering is never required. All work is done using full resolution images, without the use of proxies.
The system provides simultaneous HD and SD outputs in addition to the main output.
Film LUTs can be loaded in order to preview the look after filmout if required.
The system has a powerful Roam™ feature. This allows pan and zoom control from a trackball to see any part of the omage in greater detail on the main monitor. This is a ‘post grading’ zoom performed downstream of all other processing. The Roam feature is in addition to the input Pan/Scan and Zoom (often performed in a telecine) and the SD down converter Pan/Scan with aspect ratio control.
Massive storage bandwidth allows high-speed background file transfers between f/stop and an external SAN without slowing down the grading process.
The integral storage system can also playback media in real-time from a conform list and auto-conform data files.
