E4 TO JOIN ONDIGITAL PRIMARY LINE-UP FROM LAUNCH

E4, Channel 4's new entertainment channel, have announced that they will launch with ONdigital following the signing of a 5-year carriage deal, on January 18, 2001.
The new channel will join the ONdigital primary channel line-up which includes Sky One, MTV, Cartoon Network, UK Gold and, from January 1, 2001, Nickelodeon and Paramount Comedy Channel.
Managing Director of Pay & Digital TV, Gerry Bastable, said: "Our aim is to bring E4 to as many viewers as possible and distribution on ONdigital takes us further towards this goal. E4 will broadcast new episodes of established shows and a range of brand new commissions targeting an upmarket and younger audience that we believe is currently under served."
ONdigital subscribers to E4 will be the first to see brand new series of ‘Friends’, ‘ER’ and ‘Ally McBeal’ before they are shown on any other UK channel. They will see ‘The Sopranos’ from the very first episode, multi award winning ‘The West Wing’ and the latest new series from around the world. E4 viewers will also get the chance to see again some of the best recent Channel 4 entertainment shows including ‘Dawson's Creek’, ‘So Graham Norton’ and ‘Smack the Pony’.
E4 will also show a raft of newly commissioned series' including comedy, drama, factual entertainment, teen and music programming.
