Pro-Bel success continues with launch of Jagran TV’s Channel 7

Reading-based Pro-Bel, a premier manufacturer and supplier of routing switchers, signal processing, master control, automation and workflow technologies, has announced that Jagran TV PVT, based in Noida near Delhi, has installed Pro-Bel router technology for the recent launch of the new 24-hour Channel 7.
Channel 7, which is being carried on the DTH DishTV platform as well as on select Indian cable systems, is broadcasting 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week, 365 days a year and is exclusively Hindi. The channel was officially launched on April 2 2005 and is claimed to reach some 300 Indian cities.
Channel 7 is using a Sirius router from Pro-Bel, equipped 64 x 64. Ideal Systems, which acted as the systems integrator for the project, was contracted to create a world class, integrated facility linking the central studios with newsgathering, news production and post production in one chain. As a consequence, the routing system was fundamental to the entire operation.
Ideal Systems works regularly with Pro-Bel and has recently recommended its products across a range of projects in India. These include the installation of a Halo router as part of an audiovisual production project for IT consultancy firm Infosys Technologies. The systems integrator also installed a Sirius router for the recently launched news channel India TV. Leading production and post-production facility Century Communications is using four Pro-Bel Halo routers plus a Sirius as a core part of an installation carried out by Ideal Systems to design and construct its production control rooms.
Pro-Bel Group CEO Graham Pitman said: “We have achieved great success with our routing products across India and are grateful for the support that we receive from Ideal Systems. Our technologies are recognised for both their leading edge capabilities, as well as their robust architecture and our customers in India are keen to take advantage of these benefits.”
