Lightworks NLE chosen for 'Monster-In-Law'

Lightworks has announced that seasoned editor Scott Hill recently completed editing for the soon-to-be-released New Line Cinema feature 'Monster-in-Law' using the Lightworks Touch NLE edit system.
A long-time proponent of Lightworks’ unique editor-centric console design, Hill requests the Lightworks system for all his features work because of its simple yet powerful interface which allows him to conveniently customise his workflow.
“For me, it’s a lot easier to edit using Lightworks,” Hill said. “It’s an editing system designed by editors which just happens to be a computer – as opposed to a computer that happens to edit. Most of the features I need to use on a day-to-day basis are concentrated on the console so that I rarely use a keyboard or mouse. Hill says he finds this particularly useful when he has a director, producer or writer in the cutting room: “Editing on Lightworks is very similar to a Steenbeck flatbed editor. Having the functions concentrated on the console, gives it a jog-shuttle style and that’s what helps with the speed. It’s extremely advantageous when the director is in the room and wants to talk about a different direction to go with a scene or re-working a cut. I can easily show them several options – and do it very quickly without taxing their patience.”
