Alias announces new Maya 6.5 Platinum and Silver membership features

Alias has released the full details of its updated Maya Platinum and Silver Membership Services Programmes.
Originally launched at SIGGRAPH 2004, the Membership Services Programmes replace the previous Full Annual Maintenance Programme. The new features are available immediately and launch in conjunction with the availability of Maya 6.5 – the latest version of Alias’ award-winning 3D software.
The Maya Platinum Membership Services Programme enables Alias customers to maximise their investment by gaining priority access to all Maya software upgrades, world-class live and online technical support and unparalleled licensing flexibility. The Maya Silver Membership Services Programme empowers artists, Maya Personal Learning Edition users, educators, students and 3D enthusiasts to learn more about Maya through access to online learning resources, Maya expert weblogs, discussion forums and more.
“Our new programme significantly expands the features and benefits of becoming a Maya Platinum or Silver member and provides much more value to our customers,” comments Cristi Hawtin, memberships product manager, Alias.
New Platinum feature include: Improved Alias Insider Case Management with automated bug reporting and ‘super user’ access; Hotline hours expand to 18 hours of availability per day on weekdays; Improved response and resolution times; And One hour of personal training via phone call with an Alias expert support engineer (must be redeemed by June 2005).
New services for silver members include: Free downloadable Learning Tools; Access to weblogs hosted by Maya experts such as Alias’ own principal scientist, Duncan Brinsmead; And Textures and shaders database with high resolution tilable textures that are production-ready.
