MTI DELIVER REAL-TIME CAPABILITIES

MATHEMATICAL Technologies (MTI) have introduced software solutions for real-time pan-and-scan and for server-based digital mastering of audio with resolution-independent video on generic computer platforms.
Three new software modules, part of the MTI IntelliDeck family of software
solutions, enable an SGI Origin or Intel server platform to deliver multiple distribution formats from a single digital master.
Real-time Pan and Scan is controlled from a PC or by an alternative operator interface, and creates a "process decision list" (PDL) for subsequent rendering to produce any form of distribution format from a high-resolution master. Depending on the computer configuration, rendering of the distribution format can be done in faster than real time.
The VTR Emulator with Audio Option makes the computer function like a multi-format multi-port VTR, enabling simultaneous input and output of multiple streams of video and audio in real time. The audio processing software performs re-sampling and slipping for synchronization of audio and video streams. The ability to simultaneously manage audio and video is a revolutionary step forward for the abilities of computer-based post-production systems.
Pan and Scan Format Conversion renders the results of the real-time pan and scan. It performs aspect ratio, up and down resolution, and color space conversions among SD, HD and film-resolution formats.
Donald McClure, President of MTI, said: "MTI are committed to providing superior resolution-independent solutions for every aspect of image and audio post production processing, freeing the industry from the constraints of inflexible and expensive hardware systems. With this introduction we are doing just that."
