JVC introduce latest top-tier, multi-format DVD Recorder

JVC have introduced their new multi-format disc recorder - the DR-M10 – a new and improved model following from the success of its predecessor, the DR-M1.
This unit allows recording of high-quality, high-res PAL Progressive pictures, with versatile compatible formats and an array of user-friendly functions.
JVC’s DR-M10 can record and playback in DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD-R modes, as well as playback of DVD-Video discs, CD, CD-R/RW and Video CDs. It can also play back WMA and MP3 audio files, or JPEG digital still photos, stored on a CD-R or CD-RW disc. There is a progressive scan output for optimum picture quality.
With the DR-M10, JVC’s extensive expertise in the area of video technologies is optimally applied to deliver high-quality pictures. A JVC-exclusive technology tandem Super MPEG Encode Pre- and Post- Processors -- improve picture quality both in recording and playback. This results in the highest-possible resolution with minimal MPEG compression noise, even when pictures are recorded in long-time modes at reduced bit rates.
PAL Progressive technology enhances picture definition and colour resolution by outputting the signal in a different way to conventional TV, eliminating the problems of scan gap lines. The component connection offers the full benefit of PAL progressive pictures and Motion Active Progressive Scan Output intelligently generates a progressive scan signal from interlaced sources such as TV programmes recorded on DVD. For movie sources, JVC’s exclusive Digital Direct Progressive Scan technology enables the units to deliver PAL progressive pictures without interlacing the original pictures.
The DR-M10 also achieves superior picture quality through the use of advanced noise reduction technologies - Block Noise Reduction Circuit and Hadamard Noise Reduction System for reducing mosquito noise.
The new DVD recorder also conducts effective noise reduction prior to MPEG encoding of input signals, for example from VHS video tapes, with the Super MPEG Encode Pre-Processor. It first reduces jitters with the Time Base Corrector, and then eliminates frame crossover jitters with the Frame Synchronizer.
Moving image noise is also reduced with the JVC Motion Active Noise Reduction system, which precisely detects pixel motion and applies algorithms to eliminate edge smear and image lag.
Added to these advanced recording features is the i.LINK connection, which allows direct digital-digital conversion of DVC input signals for recordings of pictures with less noise and highly accurate details. The Linear PCM recording capability ensures recording of high-quality sound.
