Quantel and Soho Editors launch generationQ training for freelancers

Quantel have appointed Soho Editors as the first UK accredited training centre for their new generationQ resolution co-existent editing product range.
Soho Editors will immediately begin training top freelancers on the new systems, which include eQ and iQ with QColor, and the PC-based QEdit Pro.
The initial freelancers selected by Soho Editors all have extensive experience of Quantel’s legacy systems, such as Editbox and Henry.
“For the first batch we have chosen some of the top talent in London,” said Soho Editors Managing Director, Brian Cantwell. “Their training will be completed by February, so we’d like anyone interested to get in touch with us as soon as possible; generationQ is catching on fast, and there’ll be a lot of demand in the market for skilled Quantel editors. All generationQ systems share the same interface and toolset, so editors trained on one system can quickly transfer their skills to another. This is a welcome development for editors in a market where the number of different interfaces on offer with other products – even from the same manufacturer in some cases - makes it impossible for editors to be fluent on them all.”
Alongside their work with Quantel, Soho Editors are also working with McMillan, Quantel’s UK reseller, to offer a similar training package, principally for QEdit Pro and eQ. In addition, Soho Editors are gearing up to offer training on Quantel’s new graphics products, gQ and Qpaintbox Pro, with a view to offering courses in the early part of 2003.
