Chris Packham, Kyle Thomas And Megan McCubbin To Front Naturewatch

The BBC Studios Natural History Unit is launching Naturewatch, a weekly showcase of British wildlife that promises lively conversations, fresh science and eye-opening observations about the natural world on our doorstep.

Broadcast each week from a studio pod set in the countryside near Bristol, the series brings together Chris Packham with Kyle Thomas and Megan McCubbin, three inquisitive presenters united by a passion for nature and to delve into behaviours, stories and discoveries across the UK.

Regular guests will help tackle viewer questions such as why birds eat rocks, how squirrels always land on their feet, why geese fly in formation, and what happens when the rutting season begins. The programme will also unpack the science behind the latest nature headlines and invite the public to share their own sightings and queries.

Every television episode will be followed by a special audio-only Naturewatch Q&A on BBC Sounds, offering audiences an extra chance to put questions to experts and explore topics in more depth.

Week by week, the series tracks the ever-changing rhythms of the British countryside.

Chris Packham said: "Packed with fresh science, guaranteed nerdiness and a lively, conversational spirit, this is a new nature adventure I can’t wait to share with audiences. I'm so excited, I'm practically breaking out in a rash!

"Together, we'll get to know our extraordinary wild neighbours, from newts to nightingales, nudibranchs to noctules. We'll blow minds, have a laugh, deepen our understanding and fall head over heels for the wildlife on our doorstep.

"This seasonal celebration is set to light up our lives with cutting-edge discoveries from experts alongside weird and wonderful stories of biodoversity from across our communities. I'm really looking forward to sharing the unique joys of UK wildlife. The countdown has begun!"
