Clear-Com Supports Audiovisual Training With Arcadia Deployment

News Image
Clear-Com is supporting the training and development of future audiovisual professionals in Poland through the deployment of its Arcadia Central Station at the Sectoral Skills Centre for Recording and Sound Reinforcement in Łódź.

Arcadia serves as the central production communications hub at the Centre, connecting studios, control rooms, lecture rooms and other areas across the facility. As part of the Centre’s practical training environment, the system gives students and course participants hands-on experience with professional intercom technology.

The audio technology installed at the Sectoral Skills Centre was supplied and implemented by Commercial Audio, Clear-Com’s Polish distributor.

Established at the Complex of Schools and Educational Institutions of Modern Technologies of Łódź, the Sectoral Skills Centre was created to provide students and course participants with practical skills and access to technologies used throughout the modern audiovisual industry. The Centre focuses on recording production, sound reinforcement and the operation of advanced audio and production communication systems.

The project is supported by the Audio Engineering Society (AES), an international organisation focused on audio engineering and the development of the industry. By bringing together education, professional organisations and technology suppliers, the Centre provides participants with an environment in which they can develop practical experience of professional audiovisual workflows.

The Centre features lecture rooms, recording studios and control rooms designed to operate within a full-IP environment. Its facilities include studios and control rooms for Dolby Atmos production, a Solid State Logic System T console, a Solid State Logic Live Series console, an immersive sound system and active acoustic solutions from Amadeus Acoustics.

The facility's network infrastructure is based on NETGEAR AV Series switches, while audio is distributed over a Dante Audio-over-IP network. The combination is designed to reflect the increasingly connected workflows used across professional recording studios, performance venues, broadcast facilities and live events.

Clear-Com and NETGEAR have a strategic partnership focused on high-performance networking solutions for professional AV applications, including OEM networking solutions designed to integrate with Clear-Com intercom and Audio-over-IP systems. The partnership combines Clear-Com’s professional communications technology with NETGEAR's networking capabilities for AV environments.

Within the Sectoral Skills Centre, Arcadia acts as the central production communications hub, providing connectivity between studios, control rooms, lecture rooms and other areas of the facility.

Arcadia integrates with the Centre's Dante network and operates alongside multiple HelixNet Digital Partyline beltpacks and FreeSpeak II wireless beltpacks. The configuration allows students and course participants to gain practical experience with professional intercom systems while learning how wired, wireless and IP-based communications can operate together within a modern production environment.

By incorporating Clear-Com technology into its infrastructure, the Centre gives participants exposure to communication workflows used by professional production teams. The hands-on approach is intended to help prepare the next generation of audiovisual professionals for the technical requirements of an increasingly connected industry.
