TVC Technology Solutions Completes Major AV Upgrade

Commercial AV integrator TVC Technology Solutions has completed a major display and AV upgrade at Genting Casino Manchester, introducing a new integrated visual system across the venue.

The project covers the casino's Portland Street entrance, gaming floor, bar, Mahjong area, mezzanine and meeting spaces. The installation was designed to provide a consistent platform for live television and sport, digital signage and promotional content, while also simplifying day-to-day operation for staff.

A key element of the project is a bespoke curved LED wall at the casino entrance. Measuring 4.5m wide by 2.5m high, the 11.25m² display uses a 3.9mm pixel pitch and follows the curvature of the entrance wall. Its anti-vandal, IP-rated construction was selected to provide additional protection in the busy public-facing location.

For the curved LED installation, TVC worked with Peerless-AV to develop a customised SEAMLESS Connect wall bracket structure matched to the display’s cabinet configuration and curvature. TVC engineers installed the modular aluminium system on site, using its X, Y and Z-axis adjustment capabilities to accurately position the LED cabinets, accommodate variations in the supporting surface and reduce visible gaps.

Quick-connect clamps and micro-adjustment features were used to achieve the final alignment, while a NovaStar VX400 controller processes content for the LED wall.

The entrance installation was complemented by warm-white architectural LED lighting. IP-rated LED tape was incorporated around the canopy fins, entrance ceiling, rear display area and window surrounds to frame the curved screen.

Across the wider venue, TVC installed 12 Iiyama professional ProLite displays ranging from 43 to 98 inches. The displays offer 4K Ultra HD resolution and are rated for 24/7 commercial operation, with brightness levels of either 500cd/m² or 800cd/m² selected according to their individual locations.

Two 55-inch displays positioned in portrait orientation near reception are being used for digital signage and customer communications, while a nearby 75-inch screen takes advantage of an elevated sightline.

Additional displays include an 86-inch screen for the Mahjong area and two 75-inch screens integrated into the bar’s brick feature wall. Upstairs, a 43-inch portrait display turns a pillar into a digital signage point, while a 65-inch display has been incorporated into the mezzanine lightbox.

The meeting room has also been upgraded with a 98-inch central display and two 50-inch screens, creating a flexible visual platform for meetings, presentations and collaborative content.

TVC also updated, relocated and repurposed a further 10 existing screens elsewhere in the venue as part of the project. The approach allowed compatible equipment to be reused while reducing the requirement for new hardware.

The expanded display system is supported by a WyreStorm NetworkHD AV-over-IP platform, which connects the new displays with Genting Casino Manchester’s existing AV infrastructure. NetworkHD decoders were added at new display locations to deliver 4K content across the venue’s IP network, while existing receivers were reused and relocated where practical.

The completed installation brings the casino's new and existing display infrastructure together under a single AV system, combining large-format LED, professional displays and networked AV distribution across the venue.
