Microwave Factory And Rohde & Schwarz Automate SAR Testing

Microwave Factory (MWF) has added support for Rohde & Schwarz’s CMX500 5G one-box signalling tester to its MATEOS SAR measurement software, enabling fast, fully automated SAR testing for 5G NR and LTE devices.

The setup integrates the CMX500 with SPEAG’s cSAR3D vector array system in a single workflow, allowing users to manage the entire measurement process through one interface. This significantly reduces setup time compared with earlier approaches that required manual call configuration and separate steps on the CMX500 platform.

Developed in response to customer requests for automation with the CMX500 and SPEAG SAR systems, the current release supports 5G NR standalone (SA), 5G NR non-standalone (NSA) and LTE. It addresses the need for stable, efficient SAR measurements during device development and certification.

SAR measurements are vital to confirm that mobile devices comply with human exposure limits. As 5G devices and wireless technologies evolve, fast, automated and reliable SAR workflows are increasingly important for manufacturers, test houses and certification laboratories.

Building on earlier Rohde & Schwarz collaborations with SPEAG on SAR testing, integrating the CMX500 into MATEOS broadens the company’s wireless device test offering and helps users streamline SAR measurements for the latest 5G NR and LTE devices with automated workflows.
