A+E Global Media Selects Comcast Technology Solutions
Comcast Technology Solutions (CTS) has signed a multi-year agreement with A+E Global Media to provide video-on-demand (VOD) content management and distribution services through Comcast MediaExpress, part of the Comcast Media360 portfolio.
Under the agreement, CTS will provide centralized VOD management and distribution for programming from A+E Global Media brands including A&E, HISTORY and Lifetime.
A+E Global Media will use Comcast MediaExpress as a single point of ingest for video titles and associated metadata. The managed service is designed to support content preparation, packaging and delivery to distribution partners through a centralized workflow operating 24 hours a day.
The service can distribute content to OTT services, multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), virtual MVPDs, free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) platforms and other digital distribution partners.
Comcast Media360 is a managed service portfolio covering video delivery, distribution and monetization across linear and on-demand platforms. Comcast MediaExpress can be deployed as a standalone service or alongside other Media360 capabilities.
The agreement adds A+E Global Media to the users of Comcast Technology Solutions' centralized VOD distribution services, with the companies positioning the deployment as a way to reduce operational complexity across streaming and digital distribution workflows.
