NUGEN Audio Unveils DialogCheck v1.2 At IBC 2026
NUGEN Audio has introduced DialogCheck v1.2, the latest iteration of its intelligent dialogue intelligibility and compliance plug-in, at IBC 2026 (Pod P27).
The release underscores ongoing cross‑industry collaboration aimed at establishing unified methods for measuring and verifying spoken‑word clarity across broadcast and streaming.
This drive towards alignment represents a major boost for mixers, editors and QC teams seeking consistency in how dialogue is assessed. DialogCheck v1.2 will add support for these still‑evolving standards, enabling users to evaluate speech clarity against a shared, industry‑recognised framework.
Building on DialogCheck v1.1 launched earlier this year, the new version refines a platform that already extended immersive support up to 9.1.6 channels and introduced workflow and analytical improvements. Those included a Session Timeline Offset for projects that do not start at zero on the timeline. Version 1.2 continues to fine‑tune the tool for today’s increasingly complex delivery pipelines.
Throughout IBC 2026, NUGEN Audio is offering hands‑on demonstrations of DialogCheck v1.2, showing how the plug‑in strengthens dialogue intelligibility workflows across broadcast, streaming and post‑production environments.
Beyond product news, the company is contributing to a central debate at the show: “Is dialog intelligibility the new loudness?” As streamers, broadcasters and content creators face rising expectations for clarity and accessibility, speech intelligibility is rapidly becoming a defining quality metric, mirroring the ascent of loudness compliance a decade ago. NUGEN Audio, long at the forefront of loudness standards, is now applying that leadership to dialogue.
As part of its dialogue intelligibility initiatives, CEO Dr Paul Tapper and CTO Charles Blessing are also aligned with the Audio Engineering Society’s collaboration on dialogue‑focused efforts.
