KRK Unveils V Series Five Studio Monitors
KRK, a Gibson brand and long-time leader in professional studio monitoring, has introduced its V Series Five Studio Monitors, the latest iteration of its top-tier reference line.
The new range blends the V Series' hallmark accuracy and translation with integrated wireless control and advanced acoustic tuning tailored to today’s production environments.
"The V Series has long been KRK's flagship studio monitor, trusted by engineers and producers around the world for its precision and reliability," said Andrew Ladner, KRK Marketing Manager. "V Series Five builds on that legacy, delivering the sonic accuracy for which V Series is known, while evolving to meet the demands of today's modern workflows. The latest generation represents a significant leap forward in both performance and functionality."
Engineered for recording, mixing and immersive audio, V Series Five debuts KRK Mesh® connectivity, enabling wireless operation via the KRK Control App®. From a phone or tablet, users can adjust system parameters, compare EQ profiles, manage levels and fine-tune performance post‑installation without touching the speaker. Monitors can be addressed individually or as groups, whether used as a stereo pair or within a larger Dolby Atmos® configuration.
Each component is purpose-built for transparent monitoring. Custom transducers include woven Kevlar® woofers mounted in cast aluminium frames for low distortion and linear low‑frequency response, while a one‑inch silk dome tweeter delivers detailed highs. An integrated waveguide improves off‑axis consistency and stereo imaging.
A premium electronics platform sits at the core, combining ESS converters with Analog Devices DSP and Pascal Class D amplification. Power is split per driver, with 280 watts to low frequencies and 175 watts to highs, providing substantial headroom, dynamic range and faithful reproduction across demanding sessions.
Room-optimisation tools are extensive: 49 Boundary EQ presets and seven fully parametric PRO EQ filters allow precise tailoring to almost any space. Three user presets can be saved and recalled instantly, simplifying A/B comparisons or adapting to different project requirements.
The series comprises three models. The compact V4 partners a four‑inch woofer with a 48 Hz–40 kHz response and up to 113 dB SPL. The V6 employs a 6.5‑inch woofer, extends to 40 Hz and reaches 118 dB SPL. The V8 features an eight‑inch woofer, descends to 32 Hz and peaks at 121 dB SPL for high‑demand mixing and mastering rooms.
Professional touches include a front‑ported bass‑reflex cabinet, NEUTRIK® combo XLR/TRS inputs, support for analogue and AES3 digital sources, and user controls for standby mode, ground lift and input sensitivity. An illuminated logo indicates power status, and each monitor ships with a removable protective grille and integrated mounting points for installations.
Designed for producers, engineers and content creators, KRK’s V Series Five provides an accurate, adaptable monitoring platform that supports evolving workflows while maintaining the critical listening fidelity the brand is known for.
