Santiago Uribe Uses KRK V Series Monitors

Music supervisor, composer and mixing engineer Santiago Uribe has built a career spanning more than 40 film and television projects for Netflix, Amazon, Disney, HBO and other international and local productions across Latin America and Spain.

Based in Colombia, Uribe works across the full music production process, from composition and production through to final mixing. Throughout that work, he uses KRK V Series Studio Monitors as a secondary reference.

Uribe's move into music supervision coincided with the growth of streaming production in Colombia and across Latin America. After studying music production and engineering at Berklee College of Music in Boston, he returned to Colombia in 2010 and founded Audiobit Studios. His early work focused on producing bands and composing music for television.

As Netflix expanded its series production in the region in 2017, production companies increasingly began seeking music supervisors. Uribe’s combination of composition, production and engineering experience positioned him to take on the role, leading to work across multiple platforms and countries.

Today, Uribe continues to combine music supervision with composition, production and mixing. His relationship with KRK, however, dates back to his time at Berklee, where he worked with the company’s ROKIT monitors.

"I did most of my work in college on KRKs, so when Enrique [Ferrer, Gibson CI Consultant] sent me the KRK V Series, I was pretty happy; it was like going back to my roots," said Uribe. "I've always liked the sound profile and the tuning of the brand, and I’m excited to see (and listen to) what's coming next from KRK."
