Rohde & Schwarz Introduces MXO-K333 Software
Rohde & Schwarz has unveiled the R&S MXO-K333 option, bringing dedicated three-phase power analysis to its MXO family of oscilloscopes. Targeted at engineers working on AC drives, inverters and other multi-phase systems, the software blends power analyser-style metrics with full waveform visibility to speed correlation, diagnosis and debug.
The MXO-K333 option is available for four- and eight-channel versions of the R&S®MXO 3, R&S®MXO 4, R&S®MXO 5 and R&S®MXO 5C oscilloscopes. It enables simultaneous analysis of voltage and current in three-phase AC systems while keeping captured traces on screen. Users can still access standard oscilloscope tools including maths, spectrum analysis, measurement tracking and zone triggering for deeper investigation.
A guided setup wizard assigns channels to voltage and current probes, verifies wiring and supports common two-, three- and four-wire configurations (2V2A, 3V3A and 3VN3A). Once configured, the software performs cycle-by-cycle calculations for RMS values, power factor, active power, reactive power and total power. By defining input and output paths, the application can also compute overall three-phase efficiency.
Engineers can switch to specialised views such as a phasor diagram, harmonic analysis and total harmonic distortion (THD), with measurements aligned to IEC 61000-3-2 and MIL-STD-1399 requirements.
Because the solution runs on an oscilloscope, users can directly relate three-phase power results to the underlying voltage and current waveforms in real time. This is especially helpful in R&D and debugging where power behaviour must be examined alongside switching activity, transients, control signals and communications. The three-phase analysis can be combined with advanced triggering, FFT, automated measurements, track functions and protocol decoding to move quickly from symptom to root cause on a single instrument.
The R&S MXO-K333 3-phase power analysis oscilloscope software is available now from Rohde & Schwarz.
