New Pixel Power Software At NAB Increases Automation And Speeds Creation Of Broadcast Graphics

Pixel Power, a leading supplier of broadcast graphics systems, will showcase the latest version of the core software that powers its products at NAB on Stand: N2034.
As the engine that drives graphics across all of Pixel Power's product families, version 9.5 software has significant implications for broadcast graphics operations around the world.
The new release is also an integral part of the new ChannelMaster integrated playout solution, BrandMaster branding switcher, Clarity graphics system and LogoVision automated branding graphics system.
v9.5 delivers a number of innovations including:
New Automated Transition Logic (ATL) that simplifies operations and reduces the possibility of graphical playout errors. It allows templates to modify their appearance automatically in response to changes in one or more of the objects within the template.
This enables graphics templates to accommodate dynamic changes to data or graphical objects without the need for external intervention or the creation of additional templates. For example, a logo could be automatically repositioned when a lower third is added without the need to take off the logo, trigger another animation, or even playout a new template page.
Pixel Power Media Shop has been significantly upgraded, allowing it to automatically manage the conversion and distribution of v9.5 template-related audio/video clips, still images and job packages to Pixel Power graphics systems. This means that once the system is user-configured there is no further manual intervention in terms of file conversion or distribution to graphics systems.
Version 9.5 also includes full support for stereoscopic 3D graphics, a feature which is already being actively used by ESPN for its 3D broadcasts of premier sports events around the world. The software provides unique real-time control of depth and separation, giving unmatched flexibility at the point of playout. The stereoscopic 3D creation process is identical to that used for planoscopic 3d graphics, making the process both familiar and easy-to-use.
As the level of sophistication increases in broadcast graphics, it is more important than ever that the systems producing those graphics become more intelligent. The latest version of Pixel Power software meets that objective, automating and streamlining technical processes so that broadcasters keep their focus on the creative and revenue-generating sides.
