Hippotizer Powers Multi-Screen Visual Experience

News Image
Ancient history and modern sports entertainment converged at the Great Pyramids of Giza as Glory in Giza transformed the iconic location into the setting for a major boxing event, supported by a large-scale visual production workflow powered by Hippotizer Media Servers.

HiLights Group was selected to provide full technical production for the event, with the objective of creating an immersive visual environment that reflected both the significance of the historic venue and the demands of a global live and broadcast audience.

According to Ahmed Mohsen, Head of Video at HiLights Group, the production was designed with a specific creative focus.

"The creative and technical brief was centred around a singular, monumental objective - to elevate the Great Pyramids of Giza not merely as a passive backdrop, but as the primary, living architectural protagonist of the entire spectacle."

The production team built the event around the surrounding landscape, using the Giza Plateau as a natural amphitheater. Video, lighting and staging elements were integrated into the site to create a visual presentation intended to merge the energy of live sports entertainment with the grandeur of the ancient location.

To support the production, Hippotizer Media Servers were integrated with a video processor to operate a large network of Visiotek PH3.9 outdoor LED displays positioned throughout the venue. The system drove hundreds of square meters of display surfaces while managing playback across multiple screens.

The media server platform enabled synchronized control of live video feeds, graphics and production cues across the large-scale environment. Visual content produced by the Arena Video team was combined with live camera feeds captured directly through Hippotizer, creating a unified presentation that blended IMAG and pre-produced content.

HiLights Group also utilized ZooKeeper to monitor and control primary and backup systems from a centralized location, while Mix Presets allowed operators to rapidly recall visual states during the live show. Pin Bridge technology was used to synchronize media servers with lighting and show control systems.

Using Hippotizer's multi-controller and multi-mix architecture, the production team created separate media timelines, effects and output mappings across multiple display surfaces, all activated simultaneously through single cues. Integration through Pin Bridge also synchronized video, lighting and audio elements to create coordinated visual sequences throughout the event.

The event featured unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk facing kickboxing legend Rico Verhoeven, with Usyk securing the victory.
