Ross Video Unveils New Live Production Technology At IBC2026
Ross Video opened IBC2026 by introducing new products and software across its live production portfolio, covering media infrastructure, replay, sports analysis, production switching, automation, robotics and control.
Among the highlights, the Ultrix FR30 becomes the largest Ultrix platform to date, extending hyperconverged media infrastructure to enterprise scale. The single-chassis system supports up to 576×576 UHD I/O, designed to boost capacity and processing power while avoiding added infrastructure complexity. Ross has also issued a dedicated announcement for this platform.
Ross expanded its replay offering with Rio XL, a new 3RU server within the Rio Replay family built for UHD productions and super slow-motion. It supports up to 16 HD cameras and eight replay outputs, delivering greater flexibility for broadcasters, venues and educational institutions while retaining the familiar Rio Replay operator workflow.
PIERO 21.1 arrives with enhancements aimed at captivating fans and streamlining operations. New features include AI-powered player tracking, intelligent zero-click calibration, and a fresh ice hockey data module, all intended to reduce setup time and let operators focus on storytelling.
Routing & Signal Processing updates include NRG 3RU, which scales Ross’s affordable SDI routing platform while keeping its simplicity and efficiency. Ultrix Flexible Licensing enables processing licences to be shared and allocated across Ultrix frames as needs evolve.
In Automation & Control, OverDrive 25.2 debuts the new Aura user experience alongside broader control, integration and system flexibility updates. DashBoard 10 improves security, performance and stability, and adds dark mode and expanded development tools. Ross Platform Manager introduces new capabilities for centralised, browser-based access, management and licensing across Ross production environments.
For Switchers, Carbonite v12.2 unifies the Carbonite range on a common software platform, extending flagship features—such as Resource Pool—across the portfolio.
Graphics & Storytelling additions include XPression Chameleon, which brings HTML5 output into existing XPression workflows so teams can build once and deliver everywhere, on-premises and without a subscription. Voyager 8.2 advances photorealistic virtual production within current workflows, allowing creative changes to happen live without specialist knowledge.
In Media Workflow, Indigo v1 introduces a new approach to live production processes, increasing flexibility and efficiency in how teams create and manage live content.
Camera Motion & Robotics gains SmartShell 8.2, which enhances robotic camera safety via improved robot-to-robot collision avoidance, plus customisable studio maps and expanded operator controls.
Ross also adds AudioEdge and Lama Server to its Audio Systems portfolio, complementing its Lama software suite. Meanwhile, Vertex makes its first IBC appearance with Ross, unifying video, audio, lighting and control on a single platform for interactive and immersive broadcasts and live events.
