ADLINK Backs Delft Student Team's Next-Gen Autonomous Racer
ADLINK has announced sponsorship and technical support for Formula Student Team Delft, one of the world’s leading student engineering teams.
The collaboration underpins development of the team’s next autonomous electric race car, DUT26, with ADLINK’s new SBC35-ARL single-board computer chosen as the vehicle’s Autonomous Processing Unit (APU).
The initiative also spotlights ADLINK's wider ecosystem approach. This year's showcase brings together technologies from global AI platform collaborators including Intel, NVIDIA, MediaTek, NXP, AMD and Qualcomm Technology, Inc., underscoring the company’s cross-architecture and cross-domain integration expertise. ADLINK will further highlight close work with AUO Display Plus on advanced display solutions and Noble Machines on humanoid robotics, presenting a cohesive edge AI stack spanning compute, smart displays and robotic applications.
Built for industrial-grade reliability, the APU runs DUT26’s full autonomy stack from sensor ingestion through to real-time vehicle control. In the demanding context of student motorsport, the SBC35-ARL enables low-latency edge processing to support dependable autonomous operation on track.
The system fuses inputs from lidar, cameras, an IMU and GPS, alongside data from vehicle networks, and executes advanced autonomy frameworks such as YOLO v11 for perception, graphSLAM for state estimation and MPC for control. It then issues steering and torque setpoints over the CAN bus to embedded control units for actuation, with the entire loop engineered to operate in real time with minimal latency — a defining requirement for autonomous racing.
Founded in 1999, Formula Student Team Delft is a multidisciplinary group of nearly 90 students from Delft University of Technology that designs, builds and races a new electric car each year. The programme offers end-to-end, hands-on experience — from research and simulation to manufacturing, integration, validation and competition. Through this partnership, ADLINK supports next-generation engineering education and accelerates innovation in autonomous mobility by giving students access to industrial-grade edge computing on a real-world validation platform.
At the heart of the project, ADLINK’s latest high-performance SBC35-ARL single-board computer is designed for edge AI and embedded applications. In DUT26, it serves as the central compute platform for autonomy, providing the high-throughput sensor processing and deterministic control execution needed to meet tight timing constraints.
