Limecraft Rolls Out Platform Version 2026.4 with Team-Based Access Control
Limecraft has announced the availability of Limecraft 2026.4, marking the fourth of eight planned software platform updates for the year. This latest iteration introduces a new account-level framework called Teams, alongside a beta version of GPU-accelerated media processing optimized for Apple Silicon and enhanced workflow tools for localization and editorial teams. The update specifically addresses the growing administrative bottlenecks faced by scaling media organizations as they attempt to securely manage user permissions across dozens of simultaneous productions.
"Several of our customers operate across hundreds of active productions, involving internal teams, freelancers, production partners and service providers," said Maarten Verwaest, CRO of Limecraft. "Teams provides a scalable way to manage access rights consistently, reducing administrative effort while improving governance and transparency."
Teams extends Limecraft's existing role-based access controls by allowing administrators to group users, permissions and workspaces into reusable configurations. New productions can be linked to existing teams instantly, while new users automatically inherit the appropriate permissions. The feature is particularly valuable for large scale producers, managed services providers, and broadcasters managing large talent pools.
The release also introduces a beta version of GPU-accelerated video encoding and decoding within Limecraft Edge for Apple Silicon Macs. Leveraging Apple's dedicated media engines, the implementation significantly accelerates ingest and proxy-generation workflows.
For localisation professionals, new translation optimisation settings provide greater control over the balance between processing speed and translation quality. It is now possible to optimise for speed or for accuracy according to the specific requirements of individual productions, helping align turnaround times with quality expectations.
The 2026.4 release reflects Limecraft's broader strategy of helping media organisations scale efficiently while maintaining operational control across production, localisation and content delivery workflows.
