Eurovision Services Adopts Ateme's Software-Based Frame-Rate Conversion

News Image
Ateme has announced that Eurovision Services is deploying its software-driven frame-rate conversion technology to underpin premium international live event production and delivery.

Engineered for demanding live environments, the motion-compensated solution renders fast-moving action smoothly while preserving image sharpness and fine detail — essential for top-tier sports and other major live broadcasts.

Leveraging a pure software architecture, Eurovision Services is operating 84 frame-rate conversion channels on standard server infrastructure already in place across its footprint. This software-native approach offers flexible licensing models for live event operations and supports the organisation's transition to IP-based delivery workflows.

"We were looking for a frame-rate conversion solution combining premium video quality with the operational flexibility offered by software-based infrastructures," said Mostafa Bibak, Principal Solution Architect at Eurovision Services. "Ateme's approach allows us to leverage our current infrastructures while supporting the evolving requirements of international live event operations."

"Premium live content requires frame-rate conversion technologies that preserve motion accuracy, image sharpness, and fine details even in the most challenging sports and live event environments," said Julien Mandel, Senior Solution Director for Contribution and Distribution Markets. "By running as pure software on standard COTS platforms, our solution delivers both premium video quality and operational flexibility required for modern live event workflows".

Ateme's software-defined media processing portfolio supports high-performance live production and delivery across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. Because the solution is fully implemented in software, it benefits from continuous innovation and regular quality improvements.

About Ateme: Ateme describes itself as a global leader in video compression and delivery solutions, helping tier-one content providers, service providers, and streaming platforms boost viewer engagement and reduce churn. With strong R&D, the company says it powers sustainable TV services, enhances quality of experience, and creates new revenue opportunities through personalisation and ad insertion, offering flexible business models aligned with customers' strategic and financial goals.

About Eurovision Services: Eurovision Services describes itself as a leading provider of media and broadcast services for many of the world's most-watched live events.
