Genelec Unveils Smart IP Controller 2.0 App

Genelec has launched Smart IP Controller 2.0, a substantial update to its mobile control app for the Smart IP loudspeaker range, introducing a wholly redesigned interface to make small-scale installations quicker, clearer and more accessible to operate.

Rebuilt from the ground up, version 2.0 delivers a more robust, responsive and intuitive interface for both integrators and everyday users, with a cleaner layout that prioritises ease of use.

Available for smartphones and tablets running iOS or Android, the app is intended for managing Genelec Smart IP audio-over-IP systems commonly deployed in hospitality and retail environments. Users can easily view and manage loudspeaker zones, each with its own controls for precise audio adjustment, with the design refined through real-world feedback to enhance daily operation.

Setup is guided via a simple process that automatically discovers loudspeaker zones on the network. Users can assign some or all preconfigured zones within the app to create a personalised control view.

A refreshed interface provides straightforward access to core system functions including volume, mute and power on/off. The app also offers quick access to profiles created in Genelec's Smart IP Manager software, enabling fast recall of EQ, level and input settings tailored to different rooms and applications. Multiple devices can run the app simultaneously for shared control.
