Universal Electronics To Showcase FUJI Smart Remote Control At IBC

News Image
Universal Electronics is to showcase its latest FUJI smart remote control at IBC 2018 at stand 1.C41.

The company will further demonstrate its Android TV expertise with a number of other smart remote controls.

Android TV has become the fastest growing TV platform for PayTV operators with a comprehensive and high-quality TV experience. Android TVs enable subscribers to enjoy multi-screen linear and OTT experiences, as well as an increasing number of apps and gaming facilities. As a market leader in voice remote controls, and an early active partner of the Android TV ecosystem, UEI leverages its wide portfolio of control and sensing technologies to continuously improve the experiences of Android TV users to deliver the promise of fringeless TV.

UEI's competitive offering of high-quality, cost-effective Android TV remote controls, inventively named after mountains, includes OLYMPUS, DENALI, EVEREST, CERVINO, NANDA, "InsinQ" K2 and FUJI.

Each remote control platform has been created with UEI's 'Designovation' process, an awareness that real design opportunities are in the intersection of user experience, consumer trends and technology, which lies at the heart of UEI's mission. Particular focus at this year's IBC is the FUJI platform, a revolutionary remote control that improves engagement with seamless user experiences and creates an interaction between software, hardware and the user, thanks to its unique "Adaptive Control" technology, already deployed and proven at several large consumer brands.

The FUJI Android remote control is both practical, featuring easy charging with a USB cable, and aesthetically pleasing, with soft fabrics to ensure it feels as good as it looks. Adaptive Control enables the users to hop seamlessly and without friction between Live TV and streaming services and the FUJI platform is fully compatible with Google Assistant, strengthening monetisation opportunities while opening a plethora of new use cases for the connected home.

The variety of platforms showcasing at IBC will complement UEI's range of innovative, intelligent solutions aimed to create the ultimate smart entertainment experience.

Kuldip Singh Johal, VP of UEI, said: "We are delighted to be able to demonstrate our growing range of Android TV volume-driven remote control devices at IBC. The IBC audience can expect to find out more about our market leading off-the-shelves Android TV platforms for the PayTV industry, particularly our new FUJI remote control.

"All of our platforms are based on UEI's foundational technologies and unique design processes. Each platform supports QuickSet® Cloud, the world's only automated discovery, set up and control software, which enables fast time to market and low engineering effort for customers ready to embrace Android TV."

UEI technology will be on display in Hall 1, stand C41 at IBC 2018 from 14-18 September.
