Tightrope Media Systems Debut Advanced Upgrades at InfoComm 2026

News Image
Tightrope Media Systems is set to showcase two major upgrades to its MediaScribe accessibility platform alongside its new MediaScribe Narrate audio description service at InfoComm 2026 next month (Booth C9582, Las Vegas Convention Center). The upcoming Speaker Identification and Spoken Translation features are designed to enhance traditional closed captioning, while the MediaScribe Narrate service offers a cost-effective solution for producing ADA-compliant audio descriptions for pre-recorded video content.

The new Speaker Identification feature automatically detects speaker changes and tells caption readers who is speaking (a process known as diarization), information that hearing individuals receive automatically from voice recognition and visual cues. Users can create profiles for regular meeting participants using previous meeting recordings to create voice imprints and label them with official titles. A voice imprint can be used to identify recurring speakers, which helps maintain consistent labeling throughout recordings, but imprint identification lives only the local device to avoid privacy issues.

For meeting attendees who prefer to listen in another language or have difficulty reading, MediaScribe's new Voice Translations offers AI-generated spoken translations in 19 languages, including Spanish, French, German, and Chinese. Natural-sounding voices deliver meeting content through headphones or speakers on an attendee's personal device or municipality-provided device. There is no app to download—attendees simply scan a QR code in the room and choose voice or text translations. Municipalities can configure the landing page to feature the region's most commonly spoken languages at the top.

ADA Title II and WCAG 2.1 AA rules will soon require government agencies to provide audio descriptions along with captions for pre-recorded video. Introduced in April at the 2026 NAB Show, the award-winning MediaScribe Narrate uses AI technology to generate audio descriptions, avoiding labor intensive and cost prohibitive options. MediaScribe Narrate is optimized for common public meeting visuals, which significantly reduces human review time. The cloud-based service requires no on-prem hardware. Audio descriptions can be purchased directly online and can easily be added to existing video workflows or used seamlessly with Tightrope's Cablecast automation ecosystem.

"Our MediaScribe platform was designed so ADA video accessibility requirements won't overload local production teams," said JJ Parker, co-founder and CEO of Tightrope Media Systems. "Our new features help cities go beyond basic Section 508 accessibility compliance with tools that improve the meeting experience and encourage civic participation. And MediaScribe Narrate provides the audio descriptions required to accommodate residents with low vision or blindness. The time to adopt accessibility workflows is now, and MediaScribe provides an easy, affordable, and comprehensive path to compliance."
