Delta Goodrem Powers SBS To Eurovision Ratings Surge
More than 3.27 million Australians watched SBS's live and prime-time coverage of the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, with SBS On Demand adding a further reach of 538,000.
The network said the Total TV Reach was up 45.2% on 2025.
Delta Goodrem's showstopping performance of Eclipse secured fourth place for Australia in the Grand Final on Sunday morning (local time).
The Grand Final live broadcast delivered a Total TV National Reach of 1.21 million, including an SBS On Demand reach of 226,000. Semi Final 2 live reached 444,000 with 83,000 via On Demand, while Semi Final 1 live reached 263,000 with 48,000 on On Demand.
Detailed VOZ figures show live average audiences of 126,000 (Semi Final 1: 101,000 broadcast; 25,000 BVOD), 196,000 (Semi Final 2: 154,000 broadcast; 42,000 BVOD), and 464,000 for the Grand Final (383,000 broadcast; 81,000 BVOD). In prime time, Semi Final 1 reached 853,000 with an average audience of 221,000 (209,000 broadcast; 11,500 BVOD); Semi Final 2 reached 937,000 with an average audience of 269,000 (250,000 broadcast; 19,600 BVOD); and the Grand Final reached 802,000 with an average audience of 167,000 (152,000 broadcast; 15,700 BVOD).
SBS’s exclusive broadcast marked the milestone 70th edition of the contest from Vienna, Austria, with Courtney Act and special guest commentator Danny Estrin from Voyager guiding viewers through the spectacle.
Representing Australia, Delta Goodrem dazzled with powerhouse renditions of Eclipse in Semi Final 2 and the Grand Final. Audiences also saw a surprise interval act in Semi Final 1 when Go-Jo joined Austrian hosts Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski, bringing a touch of Australia to Vienna.
